LEIJONAMOT
The Lion Mothers Association is a national safety net for parents of special needs children. Special needs children form a diverse spectrum, such as those who need special support, those with disabilities, those with long-term illnesses and children without a diagnosis. Parents do not always need a doctor’s certificate to know that their child is special. All parents of special needs children are parents of these children, regardless of the child’s age and diagnosis. Parenthood does not end even if our children grow up or if they die before us. The activities of the Lion Mothers include a group of parents who are not united by their children’s diagnoses or ages, but by our unique children, with whom we have grown to the dimensions of a Lion Mother. Together we support each other, share information, defend our children and each other, and above all, we are proud parents.
