Lithuania welcomes the EACH Charter
At the invitation of EACH member, Algojimas, Members of the EACH Coordinating Committee participated in a round table discussion on the EACH Charter at the Lithuanian Parliament on 15 September 2017. Hester Rippen, EACH Vice Coordinator, spoke about the importance of the Charter and gave recent examples from member countries of how the ten articles of the Charter have been used to promote family centred care and the healthcare rights of children and young people. Parents were given the opportunity to talk about their experiences of caring for a sick child.
We are delighted that following this Parliamentary event, and fortuitously in the week that Algojimas has produced a Lithuanian translation of the Charter, the Ministry of Social Affairs has approached the organisation to discuss support for the families of sick children.
